15 Series
T-NUTS

15 Series T-Nuts are essential fasteners for 1.5-inch based aluminum T-slotted extrusions. These specialized components, which typically fit a slot width of approximately 0.32 inches (8mm), are widely utilized in a range of applications including industrial framing, CNC machinery, and various custom DIY setups.

Types of T-Nuts for Aluminum Profiles

T-nuts are essential components for securing bolts within aluminum extrusion slots. They can be broadly categorized based on their installation method and features:

Installation-Specific Nuts:

  • Drop-In / Roll-In T-Nuts: These offer greater flexibility, as they can be inserted from the side into the profile slot at any point, even if the ends are blocked or inaccessible.

  • Slide-In T-Nuts: Installed by sliding them in from the open end of the profile. They provide a strong, durable hold, making them ideal for permanent or semi-permanent fixtures.

Cost and Configuration Options:

  • Economy T-Nuts: A budget-friendly variation of the slide-in type. They are available in single, double, or triple configurations to accommodate multiple bolt attachments.

Specialized Function Nuts:

  • Position-Holding Nuts: Include Ball Spring or Leaf Spring mechanisms that prevent the nut from sliding down when used in vertical slots.

  • Flex Handle Nuts: Designed for easy manual placement and positioning within the slot.

Compatibility Notes:

While the 15 Series (1.5") and 40 Series (40mm) profiles are similar, they are not interchangeable. Anecdotal evidence from users suggests that 15 Series hardware is generally compatible with 40 Series profiles, which feature an 8mm slot. However, it is essential to verify that the bolt's thread (SAE or Metric) matches the specific thread of the T-nut being used.
